Inn at Pound Ridge Update
This just in: No brides were disappointed by the sale of the Inn at Pound Ridge.
I spoke with Dorothy Treyball today, who tells me there was only one bride who had planned a wedding for September.
“I gave them several months when I figured out that the buyers weren’t going to do it for her, Treyball said by phone from her home in Connecticut. “I let her know and returned the deposiits. The bride had insurance, too, Treyball says.
After we cleared that up, I asked Treyball about her decision to sell after 18 years at the Inn at Pound Ridge.
“I’m getting older, she said. “I’m in my 70s and I needed to retire. I have a bad knee and the stairs were hard on me. I did enjoy it while I was there, but decided to give it up.
Her son, Brendan, who was the chef, is enjoying a vacation out west on his Harley, but when he returns, he’d like to start catering house parties and weddings. Dorothy says she’ll have him call me when he gets back.
