Cafe au Lait and a Bit of Pastry
Nyack has been buzzing about the new pastry shop that opened on Main Street, Patisserie Didier Dumas. Hello sweet friends!

I don’t live too far  I’m from the Franklin Heights section of Nyack  so I stopped by on my way in to a late day at work.

It was afternoon, and so most of the morning pastries like croissants and brioche were gone.

Still, every table was taken and people were snacking on sandwiches or sipping coffee, chatting. Excuse the bad angle. That pole is unfortunate.

It’s small but very cute. And what counts is in the case, right? How does this grab you? (Almond!)

More of a chocolate person?

Cookies?

Tarts?

Cakes? (Layered with mousse, naturally.)

One of each?

I ended up getting a turkey sandwich with avocado and arugula. I loved it. Better than any deli sandwich. The bread was crunchy but soft on the inside  just how I love it. Here’s Jitka Dragouara. She got me my goodies. The cafe au lait was a dream.

At first, I was under the impression that two people owned the patisserie  Didier and Dumas  so when I saw someone behind the counter, I asked, “Are you one of the Ds?” It was manager Simon Faucard, who said Dider Dumas, the owner, was out on a few errands.
No worries. I’ll be back. And my colleagues were quite fond of the cookies.
