  2. stew leonard’s (yonkers) has a big selection of fresh fish and terrific weekly specials, fish deparment staff is professional, courteous and helpful

  3. My favorite high quality upscale fish markets are Mt. Kisco Seafood and Conte’s in Mount Kisco. So is La Mer in Armonk and Chappaqua Village Market.

You can never go wrong shopping at one of these places!

  4. ‘just came back from vacation in Turks and Caicos and am catching up on missed news – like your blog!

Turcos is Yorktown Heights is the closest and best quality fish counter that I am aware of, in the Peekskill or northern Westchester area. they do a fine job in that departement, as well as others.

Never thought until my vacation, that the store name might have something to do with the island? Does anybody know the origin of the Turcos store name?

  5. The new DeCicco store in Ardsley!

Aside from having a beautiful store, they have a GREAT seafood department with very reasonable prices and lots of prepared seafood dinners. One thing, it’s kind of hidden in the back of the store, so you may miss it if you don’t know it’s there. But just ask, everyone in the store is super-helpful.

  6. After shopping in several of Rockland’s seafood venues, the only one I trust and now frequent is Rockland Seafood. The consistency of fresh fish is outstanding, plus they prepare meals to go and have a large variety of specialty appetizers
as well. The guys who own the place are super accomodating, if they don’t have what I want, I usually get a call the next day that they brought it in for me!
