This Just In: BLT Steak Coming to White Plains
BLT Steak, the Manhattan steakhouse named for chef Laurent Tourondel, is coming to the Residences at the Ritz-Carlton in White Plains some time this fall. I’ll fill you in on more details shortly.
Here’s the update:
BLT Steak is the first of several BLT  Bistro Laurent Tourondel â€â€Ã‚ restaurants. The chef also owns BLT Fish, BLT Prime, BLT Burger and the soon-to-open BLT Market.
There are branches of BLT Steak in Manhattan, San Juan and Washington, D.C. The one here in White Plains will be, according to a press release put out by Tompson & Bender on behalf of developer Louis Cappelli, be in a two-story glass “winter garden that will look onto Main Street.
I’ve been to the BLT Steak and BLT Fish (but just the private dining and the downstairs casual fish shack part). They call BLT Steak the “modern American steakhouse, and I guess that’s a fair assesement. It’s the kind of steakhouse that appeals to women, too. There are oysters and salads, grilled tuna and lobster. Of course there are steaks  from hanger to fliet to Porterhouse. There’s the obligatory veal chop. And there’s kobe beef if you want it.
Then you can choose a sauce (blue cheese, Bearnaise), vegetables (spinach, green beans) and potatoes (hash brown, fries).
I quite like it, and am looking forward to it being right here in our backyard.
