Poppy’s in Rye: Fame Awaits You!
You’ll be seeing Poppy’s Cafe on TV soon enough. Yesterday, the New York State Lottery filmed a commercial there.
According to Steve Massinello of Mass Communications Inc. (cute name, by the way): “The commercial is set up like a mini-musical where one song will be playing hroughout. The lotto ticket is purchased in the Smoke Shop and the characters make their way to Poppy’s Cafe. Along the way, characters in the cene pass each other and sing different parts of the song.”
Gerri Piovesan, the owner of the cafe, made a few pots of coffee and cooked five plates of grilled cheese and burger as props for the ad.
