Taste of New Rochelle



I was supposed to judge the Taste of New Rochelle Saturday, but by the time I got there, they’d run out of food! I guess that’s a good thing; means the event was a success. Next time, I’ll make sure to arrange to the judging to be early rather than late!

The prizes were supposed to be Best Overall Taste and Most Unique Ingredients. Since I couldn’t sample everything, I feel funny about doling out awards. But Deon Hamlett, the organizer, tells me she polled a number of attendees and the overwhelming favorites were Mo’s New York Grill and MacMenamin’s Grill. So, she is going to give them the prizes.

Lucky for me, Jerry Josephs, a really nice guy and a sales manager from RNN, had these snaps from before I got there. I’ll share them. That photo above is of Brian MacMenamin of MacMenamin’s Grill demonstrating how to make paella:
