Fall Restaurant Preview: Red Hat on the River

Red Hat on the River. The cozy French bistro formerly on Main Street is getting bigger, and a lot closer to the Hudson. Forty feet to be precise. The new Red Hat will feature two levels, seating for 60 on a front patio, and a roof top lounge by next spring. Owner Jim Parker hopes to be serving his signature hanger steaks, mussels, duck and frisee aux lardons salad by the second week in October. 1 Bridge St., 914-591-5888. www.redhatbistro.com.

  1. I just got a sneak peak of the new digs for Red Hat on the Water and cannot stress enough how amazing this restaurant is going to be. Every seat in the restaurant has a breathtaking view of the Hudson River. I am counting the days until they open and am 100% sure this will be the #1 destination in the summer when they have outside tables.
