Another New Restaurant: Okinawa in Yorktown Heights

Posted by: Liz Johnson - Posted in openings, Restaurants on Sep 28, 2007

The fall restaurant preview came out in today’s paper (here’s the link), and in the story chat at the end, a reader with the handle “perlprop” let us know about one I missed. Take it away:

Okinawa will be opening a new restaurant on the north side of the Triangle Shopping Center in Yorktown Heights in mid-October next to Atlantic Appliances. The Yorktown branch will join stable mates Okinawa and Temptation Tea House in Mt. Kisco and Asian Temptation in White Plains.

The Yorktown branch will serve sushi, Asian fusion cuisine, and will also have 5 hibachi tables in a separate dining room.

Okinawa is a great place to go if you are in a rush! Our soup, salad and appetizer were served simutaneously with a waiter standing over us ready to take any dish away we were not activily eating from. While on my last stick of beef satay, I turned to use the dipping sauce on the plate and the dish was gone. Entree was prepared as we were still eating the appetizers and piled on our plates before we were finished with the first course. We arrived at 5 PM and were completedly done with the entire meal and the bill paid by 6 PM. Food was OK, nothing great. The chef was entertaining. Fun for kids to see once, but will not go back.
