Food Finds in the Lower Hudson Valley

New Chef at Nessa in Port Chester

Posted by: Liz Johnson - Posted in Restaurants on Nov 05, 2007

Alberto Guzman, who was the sous chef at Nessa — and who has been preparing everything from stocks to the homemade gnocchi since the restaurant opened — is the new chef at the restaurant, according to owner Mark Tessitore. Guzman used to cook at Harry’s of Hartsdale before Nessa.

In the comments on this post here, Jake said he’d heard the quality of the food has suffered. That I can’t say, because I haven’t been back, but I do remember loving my food on my first visit. Click here to see photos and a review.

I found that Nessa was better than ever when I was there on 12/3. We sampled many bruschetta which were fantastic, we shared the spicy sausage and polenta as an intermezzo which was fantastic and for dinner I had the grilled eggplant pannini. The pannini was substantial size, I was full halfway through but finished the whole thing because it was so good. Another diner at our table had another pannini and was equally pleased, and my husband had a fish special which he called spectacular.
