Deven and Jill Black wrote about Woody’s Parkside Grill  for a recent foodline. They were especially taken with some of the more unusual dishes, like goulash and calf’s liver, but also pleased with the standbys like seared tuna and braised salmon. I had a similar experience at lunch.

The decor, as the Blacks said, is nothing special. Mauve. Eh…

Reueben: Very good and satisying.

Grilled chicken Caesar. Nice dressing (and kudos for not being overdressed) and juicy chicken:

Burger. Good! It’s a burger!

Cuban sandwich. I liked the combo, but the cold cuts were a little chilly in the middle.

I’m looking forward to trying Woody’s for dinner, too!

Try the mussels in red sauce next time too. They were really great. Reminded me of the places I went to as a kid, like the Clambroth House in Hoboken, in it’s golden days.

We had lunch there last Friday and my wife and I really enjoyed. The owners were very pleasent and we plan to have dinner there next week.

Liz- thanks for always listening! Told you you wouldn’t be disappointed…
