ABBOTT HOUSE LAUNCHES CULINARY EVENT
FOR THE RIVERTOWNS
IRVINGTON, NEW YORK—The Ballroom at Abbott House is “the place to be Tuesday, March 11 for the groundbreaking fundraising and community relations event A Culinary Taste of the Rivertowns. Premier restaurants from both sides of the Hudson — Hastings, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Tarrytown and Nyack — will provide samples of their signature dishes, wine and ales will be available to try, and guests will have the opportunity to bid on a variety of items from local businesses at a silent auction.

This night of food and festivities celebrates the rich culinary culture of the Rivertowns and introduces our neighbors to the wide range of programs Abbott House offers foster children
and developmentally disabled individuals in our care. Abbott House, a leading multicultural,
non-denominational agency, has provided foster care for children and built stronger families through an array of innovative services since 1963. We also care for and empower individuals with developmental disabilities. As a non-denominational, multicultural agency, we believe
in strengthening the community one child at a time. Abbott House serves over 3000 children, adolescents, adults and families annually.
By educating residents of the Rivertowns on our vast array of needs, we hope to connect with individuals and businesses willing to assist with funding and special projects. This event is the first step in creating a “Friends of Abbott House community, which will offer countless ways for local residents to give back.
“We wanted to invite the entire community onto our campus by creating a unique event to showcase one of our area’s best resources: its cuisine, said Claude B. Meyers, Abbott House’s CEO and Executive Director. “Guests will not only be supporting Abbott House, but will also be strengthening the economic development of the Rivertowns by encouraging community members to ‘get local’ by supporting local businesses.

The event will be held in the Ballroom at Abbott House in Irvington from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Tickets are priced at $50 each and can be purchased by calling (914) 591-7300, ext.3056.
