Peniche… Again
There must be some magnetic draw…. as I’m leaving the JN office each evening, my car wants to head for 287, but somehow the steering wheel stays on Westchester Avenue heading for downtown White Plains. Next thing you know, I’m sitting at the bar at Peniche, talking to Carl and Jason:
(That was from a different visit, but I wanted to give those guys a shout-out…. they’re very professional and lots of fun to be around.)
I’m such a fan of Peniche that I actually found myself there on a Saturday night. (That’s rather unlike me… I prefer to stay home or eat real casual on weekends.) We ordered the tuna:
There were three of us, so one bite  pop!  in your mouth. A lovely way to start the meal. The olive oil has a nice grassy flavor.
Somebody (not us) ordered sangria:
We had the lamb chops next. Chef de cuisine Christian Petroni takes a real light touch with these… simple and delicious.
And, for the first time, I tried the paella:
Mussels were plump and fresh, scallops were sweet, and I love how they use farro instead of rice.
And finally, the sliders:
Man those are good. Juicy with a nice hunk of cabrales on top and delicious ketchup. Sheesh… I hope I can stay away tonight…..

There will be no staying away from Peniche.
What’s not to love about those sliders? We’ve been twice, the last time with another couple. My significant other made the observation that next time, we should go by ourselves so we don’t have to share!
I like his way of thinking!
I agree – Peniche is fabulous! From the service to the decor nothing could be better… and then the food comes! The chef does an excellent job with each dish I have tasted and as our fabulous waitress Sara pointed out, we’ll just have to come back to try the rest! The service and experience is one I have and will continue to recommend to my friends.
Peniche is an amazing place, excellent service & the food is AWESOME! Chef de cuisine Christian Petroni is the MAN!
