Lunch at the Lazy Boy
It’s not all tasting menus and flights of wine in my world! My colleague Ted Mann — contributor to Small Bites’ sister blog Suburbarazzi — and I hit the Lazy Boy Saloon & Ale House in White Plains for lunch the other day.
I had the Bull’s Eye burger, with sauteed mushrooms and onions with Swiss cheese. I also got lemon-seasoned fries, which were a revalation!
Ted got the Santa Fe, with caramzlied chipotle onions, bacon, avocado, and melted fresh mozzarella. His fries were seasoned with Cajun spices. Delicious. (I gotta say, though, I think my burger was better.)
There are almost 500 beers — more than 40 on tap — at the Lazy Boy.
Ted got the Captain Lawerence IPA — you can see that photo above. I stuck with a Diet Coke.
The reason we went to Lazy Boy is that InTown Westchester is doing a story on favorite pubs. What’s yours? Lazy Boy Saloon, 154 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains. 914-761-0272. lazyboysaloon.com.

Liz, what happened to the Jolley Trolley in Mamaroneck?
Last I heard, it became Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse eons ago. I don’t know any different. Readers?
Call me simple, but I still think Lazy Boy has the best chicken fingers in White Plains. I like the mustard it comes with, too.
No, Jolly Trolley was never CB in Mamaroneck. And it does not appear to be JT anymore either. It looks like they renamed JT to OFFICE Beer Bar & Grills (http://www.office-beerbar.com/index.php) and they do not list any NY locations. The only CB in Westchester are in Yonkers and Mohegan Lake.
