After catching Sex and the City last night in White Plains, I couldn’t help but crave a Cosmopolitan. So my pals and I headed to BLT Steak to satisfy the urge.
Very well made, indeed, with just a hint of cranberry and a nice sweet-tart aftertaste.
I know I’ve already given you Dale DeGroff’s cosmo recipe, but I also wanted to share one from my favorite cocktail recipe book of all time, “Cocktail: The Drinks Bible for the 21rst Century” (Viking) by Paul Harrington and Laura Moorhead.
Cosmopolitan
1 1/2 ounces vodka (I’d use citrus)
3/4 ounce Cointreau
1/2 ounce lime juice (fresh squeezed, of course)
1 splash cranberry
Shake with cracked ice; strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.
Yield: 1 drink.
(The book, by the way, is out of print. It’s selling for 85 bucks on Amazon!)
Cheers!

Out of curiousity, how much does BLT Steak charge for their Cosmos?
Hi HL,
I’m not sure because we each paid cash so I didn’t take the receipt. I can tell you this: We choked a little. We each had one more drink: two wines and one cosmo, so for 6 drinks total it was $100. We paid $40 each including tip. Definitely a splurge.
Thanks for the info Liz
