Where to Throw a Wedding in Westchester?

This in from a reader who’s looking to throw a wedding lunch for 75 to 125 people. Any suggestions?

My fiancée and I are getting married in December.  We are having a destination wedding in Aruba.  We initially thought this would be a much easier way to go!  We definitely didn’t fully realize what we were getting ourselves into.
We are catching some grief on both sides of our family because of the lack of people that will be able to make the trip down to Aruba.  Now we are planning two weddings!  Our Aruba wedding and a lunch/brunch after for anywhere between 75-125 people.  We are kind of stumped as far as where to look in Westchester for a place that is nice, not cheesy, and not crazy expensive being that we are spending a lot on the whole Aruba thing.  If you have some suggestions that might fit the bill it would be extremely helpful.  Thank you so much.

  1. I am the Sales Manager at Morton’s The Steakhouse in White Plains. We would love the opportunity to create a special Wedding Luncheon or Brunch for you.

  2. I am not sure what it would cost (I am sure it would not be cheap), but Monteverde at Oldstome Manor is beautiful. Also, there are a number of places along the Hudson river that would cater to that sort of thing; including, but not exclusive to: X20 in Yonkers, Half Moon Bay in Dobbs Ferry, One in Irvington, the restaurants at the boat club in Tarrytown, etc. Tappan Hill in Tarrytown is nice, as is The Wainright house in Rye. Just some suggestions. Hope helpful.

  3. Try this place:The Grandview located at 176 Rinaldi Boulevard in Poughkeepsie , NY .
we had our wedding there and it was a huge hit. inexpensive and great food. we looked into monteverde but the view of the nuclear plant and the prices turned us off. good luck on your search.

  4. I had my wedding at The Bronxville Women’s Club 3 years ago and people are still talking about it. The caterer takes care of everything including the wedding cake. The event was seamless. Best of all, it was very inexpensive by comparison to other venues in Westchester. They do all kinds of events and have more than just one venue to offer. The caterer is Colonial Catering. Call Mary at 914-961-2997. She made our day very memorable and stress-free!

  5. I am an events manager for Harvest on Hudson Restaurant in Hastings and Half Moon Restaurant in Dobbs Ferry, both venues have spectacular views of the Hudson River.
I would love to help you plan your special Wedding Luncheon.

  6. We had our wedding in Yonkers at the Roosevelt Ballroom in April and were very pleased.

We had been to two bat-mitzvah’s in two weeks, and the food was good and different both times. It’s an old dance hall, centrally located in Yonkers, and it wasn’t inexpensive, but it wasn’t expensive either. You could probably put together an event there for a reasonable sum.

All of our guests loved the food.
