One Heck of a Fish Guy


Rerun day continues on Small Bites. Back in mid June, when I was reporting the kindai tuna story, I ran into a fishmonger we should all be so lucky to have in our local store. His name is Joe DeLuise:


He works at Mount Kisco Seafood, where he’s known as Big Joe — to distinguish between him and Joe DiMauro, the owner.

He butchers fish like a playa. He’s quick and never misses.

Best part? Big Joe is a fisherman himself. He’s around fish pretty much all day, every day. He loves to spend his time off on the rivers in the Catskills. Always catches and releases, though.
