Fall Restaurant Preview: SOMA 107

Posted by: Liz Johnson - Posted in gene yen, preview, Restaurants, soma107, white plains on Sep 04, 2008

Opening in October, SOMA107, is a sleek new venture by second-generation Westchester restaurateur Gene Lum, whose family owns Lum Yen in Mamaroneck. The eclectic, modern American cuisine with an Asian twist, prepared by chef James Cawley, formerly of MacMennamin’s in New Rochelle, will feature locally grown, seasonal ingredients whenever available. The luxurious new space will also include an upstairs lounge with its own bar menu and private chef’s table dining. Colors will run warm: earth tones with mahogany tables, granite bars and rich, textured upholstery. 107 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains 914-682-6795, vovrestaurants.com. — Judith Hausman
