Fall Restaurant Preview: Sweet Grass Grill
This original post reported David Starkey as the sole partner. In fact, there will be two owners: Starkey and Theresa McCarthy. I have edited the post so it’s correct.
We’ll be publishing our annual fall restaurant preview on Wednesday, but Small Bites readers get a sneak peek. Here’s a look at some of the restaurants that will be opening this season.
Tomatillo owner David Starkey and partner Theresa McCarthy will open Sweet Grass Grill in Tarrytown in late September, offering American comfort food and keeping in tune with the local and affordable approach as at Starkey’s other cafe, which is in Dobbs Ferry. In restoring the space that used to house Main Street Café, the partners uncovered the original facade of the building. They’ll go with the country-rustic atmosphere it creates, adding wood floors, double-hung windows and an expanded vegetarian menu. Look forward to locally raised baby chicken, Hudson Valley trout and grass-fed burgers, local fruit and Stone Barns lettuces, among other goodies. 24 Main St., Tarrytown, sweetgrassgrill.com. — Judith Hausman
