Liberty’s American Bar & Grill, slated to open Sept. 15, is going to be a boon for hungry and thirsty night owls. Owners Alan Walsh and Brian Bolcik, both former bartenders at Jose O’Reilley’s across the border in Norwood, N.J., will be keeping their establishment open until 4 a.m. seven days a week, with the kitchen open until 3 am. They’re even putting a two-pronged happy hour policy in place: Drink and snack specials are available from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weeknights, plus from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. every morning. Early-to-bed types, including families, who stop in for lunch, dinner, or pub-grub munchies like wings (in eight varieties) can always catch the sports event du jour: Liberty’s is crowned with a ring of 16 televisions mounted along the walls, plus a 12-foot screen. Looking for a sneak peak? The modestly priced menu — nothing tops $18.95 — is on the Web site already. 51 Route 303, Tappan. 845-398-1981, libertysbar.com — Jill and Deven Black

This place was the old Tappan Pub and boy has it changed
Gone, for some reason, are the bartenders who made this such a great place. A place we looked forward to spending time and money at. Plus the new owners and former bartenders are a douche bags
I disagree as a regular of the old tappan pub i think the new place is awesome!
it is completely a new restaurant with a new menu and is still our regular place despite the change up, i do miss some of the old staff but the new staff are just as friendly and i have no idea where you come up with the comments about the owners, they were two of the nicest guys i met, i think its great that they still are hands on and it shows, me and my friends love the food and the promos and cant believe how late they serve food till – 3am!!
No more nyack or pearl river for us!
i completely recommend trying this place out!
Twenty five cent wings that are some of the best I have ever had and plenty to choose from on the TAP.
Liberty’s is a Winner in my book!
I can’t believe the great reviews on the food at this restaurant. Based on the review by Audrey Green, we decided to give the restaurant a try. What a disappointment. I don’t know where she has eaten before but my whole family decided we would not go back again. No flavor, too much salad dressing, and just not good at all – “to each his own.”
I also visited based on the reviews and my family and we had a great time.
I am always in search of great ribs and wings and i can honestly say this is one of my new favorite places. They are kids friendly with coloring sheets for the kids and a cheap kiddy menu and some video games for them to distract themselves with too.
They are a new restaurant and i think they are starting out strong, there are bound to be a few hic-ups as they find their feet but so far i think they are doing an excellent job of it. They seem to care and thats what counts in my book.
along with the meat i also eat the salads and i find it odd that they have too much dressing considering everyone i have eaten there is served on the side!
My only complaint would be that it gets very busy there sometimes and we have had to wait for a table but its easily rectified seen as the bar is well within reach!
I have been several times and frankly I feel the owner(one in particular) is just nice because they want your money. He adds on drinks that were never had and trys to make it seem like he is giving you freebies all night. I would not recommend going here. Its almost amusing to go and see the young crowd, that is if they werent all under 21. My neighbor daughter there and she 19…..........get a grip lads. Bring back Tappan Pub
