Wine Dinner: Plates in Larchmont

From the newsletter:
Duckhorn Winemaker Dinner – Thursday September 11th

PLATES welcomes to New York California wine icon and proprietor Margaret Duckhorn for a 4 course, 6 wine, tasting dinner.  Since its first harvest in 1978, Duckhorn Wine Company has established itself as one of Napa Valley’s premier wine estates. Known from the beginning for producing exceptional Estate Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from the heart of Napa, Duckhorn has grown in its thirty year history to embrace Pinot Noir (Goldeneye from vineyards in northern Anderson Valley) and innovative blends (Paraduxx red blend from Napa). Chef Karp will pair the lineup starting with hors d’oeuvres at the bar, and then a seated late summer menu.  Ample time for Q&A with Ms. Duckhorn and our friends from Zachy’s in Scarsdale.  The evening begins at 6:30 with champagne and hors d’oeuvres at the bar and is $100. per person with tax and gratuity additional.  Reservations are required and space is limited – 914-834-1244. Plates is at 121 Myrtle Blvd., Larchmont.

Wines for the evening:

• Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc 2007
• Goldeneye Pinot Noir 2005
• Three Palms Merlot 2005
• Estate Merlot 2004
• Paraduxx Napa Valley Red 2005
• Rector Creek Vineyard Cabernet 2004
