Food Finds in the Lower Hudson Valley

Thanks for the Shout Out, Grub Street

Grub Street, New York magazine’s food blog, linked to today’s profile on Jeanne Geraci of Mount Vernon, a finalist in our Locally Grown Recipe Contest. As writer Linda Lombroso mentioned in the story, Jeanne had an e-mail conversation with Dan Barber before the contest, so thought it was pretty cool that she ended up cooking in his kitchen.

Just one correction: The contest is actually sponsored by the Journal News, and Stone Barns Center is a sponsor, along with MyPersonalFarmers.com. Dan and Blue Hill were just kind enough to let us use the kitchen.

Meet the Locally Grown contestants in a video here.
Profiles of our contestants:
Jeanne Geraci of Mount Vernon: Cucumber-Tomato Duet.
Bob Madigan of Purdys: Pasta for Teresa.
Vivian Utko of Armonk: Stuffed Swiss Chard.
Suzie Fromer of Tarrytown: Moroccan Beet and Kale Salad.
