Jackson & Wheeler Changes Its Menu

Posted by: Liz Johnson - Posted in jackson & wheeler, pleasantville, Restaurants on Oct 07, 2008

I heard there was a small fire at Jackson & Wheeler the other day. Hopefully they’re back in business, serving their new menu. Here’s what owner Lenny Bernstein wrote to me recently:

The changes to the dinner menu reflect a number of things:
-       We now have only 1 menu for lunch and dinner offered all day and evening.  This allows the customer who is on a budget or just looking for a sandwich, wrap or salad before/after a movie many more options.

-       We have moved our menu towards more pub style dishes.  We have found that the average person is looking for something to eat that is fast, simple and most of all cheap as opposed to fancier cuisine.  We have adjusted our menu accordingly.

-       Everything on the menu is under $20.  Even the Rib eye Steak.  Dollars are tough right now and families are tightening budgets for eating out.  This new menu is affordable for everyone.  We are actually less expensive than the local pub and diner.  However, we are still offering our atmosphere, quality ingredients and preparation by Chef Christopher Greene (formerly of Whippoorwill CC) but for a lesser price.  We are trying to make it easier for everyone to get past this financial speed bump.

-       We will still offer specialty nights including live music, Geoff Hartwell Blues Jam, Westchester Jazz Jam, Belly Dancing, Dinner Theatre etc.  Only difference will be the menu and if we run a special limited menu, the price will be less than before.

-       We still offer our award winning wine list but we have lowered those prices as well and made the list much smaller.  The other bottles are still on hand for those who wish and we will be running wine specials as we move along.

-       We are still doing brunch with live jazz on Sunday but we eliminated the fixed buffet.  Now, we offer the full menu with brunch specialties.  This way people can order what they wish and keep their price down as opposed to paying for a big buffet and not feeling they are getting their money’s worth.

You know I don’t usually send attachments, but the menu would not look good if I try to paste onto this.  (I tried!)  Please take a look and see what we have done.    Please contact me with any questions you may have.

Thank you,

Lenny
