Good morning and happy Monday. I spent the weekend in the city, so didn’t do any cooking to share today. We did hit several delicious places, though, including Bar Jamon for a delightful pan con tomate (sorry, no photo), Casa Mono for an incredible duck egg dish with fingerling potatoes and black truffles —

—  Balthazar for killer eggs Benedict —

— Tia Pol for patatas bravas —

and Snack Taverna for an amazing cinnamon-spiced orzo-mushroom dish:

We definitely ate well this weekend! And with that, hre’s what people were talking about:

Alice isn’t head over heels for Emma’s Ale House in White Plains, but she does think it’s solid, midpriced gastropubby restaurant. (NYT)
Chick in the Kitchen’s Menu Plan Monday includes Nachos, Saffron Chicken and Spicy Green Bean and Tofu Stir Fry
. (CITK)
At least one Chowhounder loves the Farmhouse at Bedford Post
. (CH).

A few other interesting threads on Chowhound:
Great pastry at Didier Dumas in Nyack.
Recommendations for restaurants in Southern Rockland County.
A few reports on the new Somers Tavern, fka Granite Springs Inn.
Good meals at Peter Pratt’s Inn. (BTW, chef Jon Pratt is back in the kitchen again; could account for the change in people’s experiences.)
Mixed feelings about Spadaro, still.
Finding fresh sauerkraut.
Mixed reviews — from “best in Westchester” to “eh, not so much” — on Eastchester Fish Gourmet.
For Portuguese, Doca’s in Ossining has some fans.
