St. Patrick’s Day on the Hudson: The New Irish Cookery
Acclaimed Castle on the Hudson Chef, David Haviland, draws from the modern dishes of Irish celebrity chef, Noel McMeel

Modeled after Castle Lismore in Ireland, Castle on the Hudson in Tarrytown is the ultimate setting for a special St. Paddy’s Day feast.

Acclaimed Equus chef David Haviland explores the new Irish cookery, with featured dishes from top Irish chef, Noel McMeel of Lough Erne Golf Resort in Ireland. This special St. Patrick’s Day dinner represents the second time the Castle’s Chef Haviland and McMeel have teamed up.

The 5-course prix fixe dinner includes Smoked Irish Salmon, Leek and Potato Soup, Braised Veal Cheek, Roast Loin of Lamb, and Bushmills Whiskey and Apple Custard for $55 per person (tax and gratuities not included). A second option, for $75, includes both dinner and a Vintage Hudson Valley Value Card.

With the Value Card, diners will receive a complimentary Irish coffee after dinner, and a chance to win a vacation in Ireland. The raffle prize (drawing at the Castle at 8 pm 3/17) features 3 nights at Lough Erne Golf Resort, dinner for two prepared by Noel McMeel, golfing on the resort’s new Faldo Course, and much more. Noel McMeel’s professional training includes stints with Jean-Louis Palladin at the Watergate and Alice Waters at Chez Panisse in San Francisco. He is currently appearing in the BBC series Great British Menu, representing Northern Ireland. Now based at The Lough Erne Golf Resort, Noel has earned critical acclaim for his use of carefully sourced ingredients and his modern Irish cooking style.
