Hastings Station Cafe *IS* Open

In a post about restaurant closings, the Hastings Station Cafe made it onto the list. I got a message from its owner that I was misinformed. They are indeed open.

Iris Schwartz, the owner, wrote me this little note to tell me about the place.

While our specialty is great coffee (the best you can find in this area, according to our customers!) including gourmet and espresso based coffee drinks, we also offer a variety of wonderful pastries, sandwiches and salads. The cafe also hosts musical events (outdoors in the warm weather) and poetry and book readings by local artists, as well as serves as a venue for local groups to meet, such as a Networkers’ Group for free-lance professionals and our very popular Mommy & Me classes which meet twice a week.

The cafe is at 134 Southside Ave. in the train station building. Call 914-205-3423
They’re open 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekday; 8 a.m. -2 p.m. Saturdays. Closed Sundays.
