Wine of the Day: Argiano Non Confunditur Super Tuscan

Posted by: Liz Johnson - Posted in Uncategorized on May 05, 2009

There’s no confusing this wine.

Argiano Non Confunditur Super Tuscan ($23): A unique marriage of both Tuscan and French grape varietals, offering an intensity and concentration way beyond its price point. Deep ruby hues open to rich fruit aromas of red berries and soft smoky toast. A generous and round wine that is textured and layered with spicy black currant from the cabernet, warm red fruit of the syrah and  sweetness from the merlot. The words Non Confunditur is Latin term meaning “don’t get confused”. Appropriate to not confuse this wine with your simple every day Tuscan.
Michael Grossberg of The Grape Exchange in New Rochelle will be providing the wines for our wine festival this year, and to get everybody excited, he’s written descriptions of many of the more than 200 wines you can taste there.

I’ll post one a day here on Small Bites. Do let me know if you’ve had it before, and what you think!

I’ll be at The Greater New York Wine & Food Festival May 15-17 at the Doubletree Hotel Tarrytown. There’s a Chefs Uncorked! Big Talent-Small Bites kick off party on Friday, two grand tastings, cooking demos and wine seminars Saturday and a casino night Saturday night. Sunday brunch is for VIP guests. Tickets for most events are $75-$100. Visit lohud.com/wine for more information.

Time to change your blog title to Food AND WINE Finds in the Lower Hudson Valley..

Are you fooded out for a while? or just so much to say following your wine judging experience?

  3. Liz Johnson says:

    LOL! Sorry Michael!
While I was away, I scheduled some posts to go up automatically to make sure y’all had something to read, and these were the easiest to automate.

I’m also really looking forward to the Wine Festival and to tasting all these wines!
