Fundraising Dinner at Zanaro’s in White Plains on June 8
Remember my delicious meal at Zanaro’s a little while back?
Why not pay a visit yourself, and do something for a good cause at the same time? “Feast for Peace” is a fundraiser for the We Are Family Foundation (WAFF), where chefs Joe DiMaggio Jr. of Zanaro’s and chef Don Pintabona, formerly a managing partner at Tribeca Grill, will create a 15-course tasting menu paired with Oriel wines. It goes from 6 to 10 p.m. June 8. Tickets are $175 per person with limited seating.
A few of the courses include:
– Seared Sea Bass with Wild Mushroom Consommé /Oriel Portia Pinot Grigio – Torchon of Foie Gras with “Crazy Apples” /Oriel Femme Fatale Rose – Tuna Crudo, Ginger, Lavender & Meyer Lemon /Oriel Mana Sauvignon Blanc – Rigatoni Bolognese with Cognac, “Fat Ass” Cream & San Marzano /Oriel Trifola Barbera d’Alba – Braised Black Tar Demi Short Ribs, Poached Quail Eggs /Oriel VQM Cabernet Sauvignon – Intermezzo /Oriel 365 Prosecco with Pomegranate Ice

Proceeds from the event will support WAFF’s 2010 Three Dot Dash Just Peace Summit, which brings together extraordinary teens from around the globe who are changing the world with projects that address basic human needs. Three Dot Dash® is a global initiative of WAFF that supports Global Teen Leaders (GTLs) around the world who are actively working on projects that promote a more peaceful society by addressing one or more basic human needs — food, water, health, shelter, safety, education and the environment. The name Three Dot Dash is a mash-up of Morse code, used by telegraphs, and the two-fingered “V” gesture that has come to be known as the peace sign. In Morse code, “V” is •••– . Harlem’s own Academy Award-nominated IMPACT Repertory Theatre will be performing their Oscar-nominated song from “August Rush,” as well as their original Three Dot Dash song they wrote for WAFF. For more information, visit impactreptheatre.org.
