Altamura Trattoria & Pizza Bar Coming To White Plains in September
Those of you who follow me on Twitter already know, but for the rest of the readers: the restaurant taking over the spot where Via Quadronno once was will be called Altamura Trattoria & Pizza Bar and will open in September.
The restaurant, according to spokesman Geoff Thompson, is named after the town in the Puglia region of southeast Italy where Louis Cappelli’s grandfather, Luca was born. (Louis’ father is also named Luca).
Says Geoff:
The town is know for baking the “best bread in the world,” know as “pane d’Altamura,” which will be a featured item at the new trattoria. Pane d’Altamura is sold in many Italian cities. Altamura is 45km southwest of the City of Bari.
The other information from my previous post on Via Q closing here is all still accurate.
This photo of the former Via Q sign kind of says it all, doesn’t it? Photo Caption: none

I pass this place almost every day & there are no renovations going on. In fact, it looks exactly the same inside as it did the day Via Quadronno closed. There were signs indicating it was “closed for renovations and Altamura would be opening soon” but those signs were taken down a few weeks ago.
Thanks for the reminder, Sue. It is not opening after all. I spoke to spokesman Geoff Thompson last week and was so busy I forgot to post this. Here’s the link:
