Small Bites Cookie Swap: The 12 Finalists Exchange Tomorrow!

It’s almost time! At 6 p.m. tomorrow, the 12 finalists for the Small Bites Cookie Swap will exchange their cookies (and recipes!) at Chef Central in Hartsdale.

The judges — including me — will taste the cookies, and we’ll give out three prizes, generously donated by Chef Central: an $80 KitchenAid hand mixer, a $100 gift card and a $300 5-quart Kitchen Aid stand mixer.

The 12 finalists have been notified, so if you didn’t get a call from me — I’m sorry… I loved all the recipes — but there were 150 of them! It was so very hard to choose!

Still, everyone who entered should have received an email by now, inviting you to come down to the swap, too. Don’t worry: you don’t have to bake for 150 people …. just come down and meet the finalists and say hi to me. (I’ve heard there are some great door prizes, too!)

We are working diligently to edit all 150 recipes — even those that did not appear in the Express today. I had hope to have the recipes available for searching today, but they will definitely be online later this week. We’ll have them in a database similar to the one on the bottom right column of

I can’t possibly thank everybody enough for entering. This contest has already been so much fun. As I said in the article in today’s paper, it really has been rewarding reading all of your stories. I kind of feel like I’m part of your holiday celebrations now, so I sure hope to meet all of you who entered at Chef Central tomorrow.

Happy holidays!
