Good morning and happy Monday.
Believe it or not, I am still not feeling well, and this weekend, well, frankly, I wasn’t really up for taking any photos. My apologies. My husband cooked for me all weekend: Vietnamese pho on Saturday (that is great for a flu); and roast chicken with sweet potato puree on Sunday (that is great for a stormy Sunday night). But otherwise, I spent a lot of time resting.

I’m finally starting to turn the corner, I hope, and once I do, I’ll be getting out and about to check out some of the cool new places I’ve been hearing about: the wine bar in Sleepy Hollow, the new Italian in Nanuet, and the new barbecue in Pearl River. Plus, check the blog this week for news on the new Fairway coming to Pelham and an appearance by Joe Bastianich at an upcoming wine dinner at Tarry Lodge in Port Chester.

With that, here’s what people have been talking about this weekend:

Was there no New York Times review this week? Living in Rockland, I get the New Jersey section, so I only see the Westchester section online… and I don’t see anything new.
Tony Bourdain’s Hudson Valley episode of No Reservations is coming soon. (GS)
Doug visits the Moonbeam Cafe in Briarcliff — and calls out some jerk-y behavior! (HT)
Todd loves the Fish Cellar in Mount Kisco. (WE)
The Hudson Valley Wine Goddess tells you how to help Haiti by buying (or donating) wine. (HVWG)
Casual and affordable in Pleasantville. (CH)
Brunch/shower for 70 near the Tappan Zee in Westchester? (CH) May I suggest Half Moon? I really liked my brunch there.
Cheap brunch or breakfast in Yonkers? (CH)
Finalmente and Villa Napoli in Sleepy Hollow. (CH)
Dim sum in Westchester. (CH)

In regards to Michelle’s comment above…this is a hot new place, it’s wonderful, that is all I can say. The buns are outrageous…It’s like a NYC type place right in Rockland, decor is really cool!! I’m a regular already & I just discovered them right before Christmas!! So much for my new year’s diet!!

    hope your well soon!
