Hi, my name is Maria Reina. Food has always been a big part of my life. For as long as I can remember I’ve loved to be around food, whether in a kitchen creating something or enjoying a fabulous creation in a restaurant.
After a successful 20+ year career in Retail Management and Human Resources I decided to start over and follow my passion. In 2007 I went back to school, studying at the Italian Culinary Academy, part of the International Culinary Center, in New York City, and then continued my training at the famous Italian culinary school ALMA, just outside of Parma. After finishing my training at ALMA I apprenticed at a Michelin star restaurant in Abruzzo. A few months after graduating I had the great fortune of landing a job with the amazing chef Andy Nusser, of Tarry Lodge in Port Chester. I spent a year with Andy working, watching and absorbing. In September I left the restaurant for life as a private chef and caterer, a career I thoroughly enjoy!
