Gravy (or Sauce) Competition & Meatball Demonstration at Chef Central

Does Philadelphia or New Jersey make the best sauce?

On Saturday, March 13, Author Lorraine Ranalli will travel north for a gravy competition with North Jersey Chef/Columnist Johnny DeCarlo. Lorraine and Johnny will face off not once but twice at Chef Central locations in Paramus, New Jersey (11:00 AM) and Hartsdale, New York (2:00 PM).

Lorraine Ranalli is the author of “Gravy Wars: South Philly Foods, Feuds & Attytudes,” where she tackles the question…is it gravy or is it sauce? Johnny DeCarlo is the owner/operator of Bonnie & Clyde Catering based in Lodi, NJ.

Lorraine and Johnny will entertain with tales of growing up Italian-American. Each will demonstrate making and serving samples, and customers will have an opportunity to cast votes for the best gravy and meatballs. Lorraine will also sign copies of Gravy Wars / South Philly Foods, Feuds & Attytudes.

Chef Central is a 15,000 sq foot gourmet housewares store and cooking school located on Route 17 in Paramus, NJ, and their New York location is on South Central Park Avenue in Hartsdale.
