Nyack Gourmet Changes Locations; Adds Salads and Latino Dishes

Nyack Gourmet, the takeout and catering shop that used to be in the historic Woolworth’s building on Main Street, has moved to the former San Juan Cafe location on North Broadway.

Owner Cris Spezial will continue his popular breakfasts, lunches and dinners to-go, including full breakfasts, soups, sandwiches and prepared foods, but he’s added two new concepts. Info, after the jump.

Nyack Gourmet Chopp’d: A gourmet salad bar with all the greens, proteins, mix-ins and dressings on display for you to choose among. Spezial says he can make you “the salad of your dreams.”

and

Nyack Gourmet Ole: In honor of the former San Juan Cafe, Spezial is serving rice and beans, Cuban pork and Spanish roast chicken. You can have them as a platter or in burritos.

One other cool thing: Spezial has a cookbook lending library with hundreds of titles. Sign out a cookbook, take it home, peruse, cook, and bring it back. Now that’s a novel idea!

I’m shocked about the San Juan Cafe. It was a favorite place but I guess I didn’t go there very often so didn’t even know it closed. It must have gone downhill after it changed hands. I’m not such a fan of Nyack ‘Gourmet’.

We LOVE the New Nyack Gourmet! It is beautiful and the food is outstanding. Had the rice and beans and pulled pork – delicious! Nyack Gourmet Ole’!! Perhaps a bit of jealousy at work from Ms. Chef Segura??

Oh thank God. When I saw the empty store in the old Woolworth building I was devastated!
So glad you are just around the corner. Best coffee in Nyack, and great take out alternative. The food is gourmet, and the prices are near fast food once you feed my family of four.
