We are pleased to announce WineTwit’s next “Sip & Twit: A European Tasting Tour” event to be held at Pour Cafe & Wine Bar in Mt. Kisco, NY on March 23, 2010. Sip & Twit represents the next generation of wine tasting as it blends the traditional world of wine tasting with new media and technology. European wines & food will be paired by Pour’s Anthony Colasacco and wines will be available via the event’s retail partner. Admission to the event is $40 and includes food and wine tasting and other great giveaways.

WineTwits is a twitter-powered tasting community that brings together wine and tech enthusiasts in an immersive product sampling environment. Sip & Twit will require guests to have a Twitter account and mobile device in order to participate in the Twitter portion of the event. However, you can also enjoy the tasting without tweeting. The room will be set up like a traditional tasting, with stations featuring wines from around the globe. Various brand ambassadors will be invited to educate and inform.

Whereas a typical tasting involves attendees busily scribbling in notebooks, Sip & Twit participants will be able to “tweet” their tasting notes as they walk around the room. The tweet-feed will be simultaneously broadcasted locally to plasma screens around the room and globally to the online community utilizing the WineTwits technology.

The live feed will encourage interaction between the participants as the collective public discussion evolves on the screens throughout the space allowing for some fun interaction between guests.

With wines from European based producers, Sip & Twit: A European Tasting Tour will provide wine fans around the world with an opportunity to experience the next generation of wine tasting. Adding to the experience, the event is being held at Pour Mt. Kisco, the most intimate wine bar in Northern Westchester County.
