bartaco in Port Chester — no, not Bar Taco; it’s one word — the new spot owned by Sasa Mahr-Batuz and Andy Pforzheimer of Barcelona, the wine and tapas bar with six locations in Connecticut, opened last week on the Byram River where Ebb Tide used to be. There’s a whole new look, feel and menu — all of which begs to be enjoyed on a fine summer’s day, cocktail in hand.
Unfortunately, it’s still winter. But we can pretend, right? Looking at these dreamy photos that Journal News photographer Joe Larese took today, it’s pretty easy to do. Blue and white, open and airy — and a big deck overlooking the river.
Plus, food that looks divine. I haven’t sampled yet, but here’s what Joe shot:
After the jump, more photos.
I’ll bet this deck will be packed on the first nice day:

Have you made it over there yet? I’m dying here. It looks like a little slice of taco heaven. I need recon.
Thanks for the details and great pictures. I only have been there at night and the bar scene looks like something out of a Michelob commercial as it is front, center, loud & lively. The menu & drinks are great and the prices are totally reasonable.
Cheers!
