Jessica Rao, who is covering White Plains businesses for our Sunday Life IN&OUT column, has this sad news: Peniche has closed.
Mark Avallone, an owner and the restaurant’s general managerconfirms that he has “reluctantly closed Peniche as it will be sold shortly.”
RIP Peniche. What a great restaurant you were.

Peniche was one of the worst restaurants in Westchester… we live a few blocks away – went there once and never again. The service stunk – the food stunk – high chairs and tables (shared) were uncomfortable.. What took it so long to close???
I’m sorry you feel that way, Judith. I really enjoyed Peniche. Too bad you didn’t give it a second chance.
Peniche was a great restaurant, that unfortunately went downhill as of late. Now we know why. It will surely be missed by me.
We were given a gift certificate to Peniche, so my husband made a reservation for Valentines day. When we arrived, we were met with a dark, closed restaurant. It would have been nice if the person who took our reservation over the phone could have alerted us that they were closing and wouldn’t be open for our reservation. I’d love to be able to get my sister a refund for the gift certificate she gave us also—anyone know who I should contact?
