Hudson Valley Restaurant Week: Meet Guest Blogger Sally Veltidi

Reality TV, Cheese and Me!

Hi, my name is Sally Veltidi. I was born and raised in Suffern, NY. Upon graduation from High School I attended Clemson University in South Carolina (Go Tigers! I hope they make it into this year’s March Madness). After graduation I lived in Rockland and Boston and finally landing in Westchester County. I currently am a Recreation Supervisor for Westchester County’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation.

I love Reality TV, especially the shows that take place in New Jersey. Sad but true I think it is entertainment at it’s finest! I always think of what I would want to eat if it was my last day on earth and every meal always contains cheese. Probably not the healthiest choice, but you have to admit cheese makes everything better. Ironically my current favorite place to eat is Red Plum in on Mamaroneck Ave. in Mamaroneck. Their menu does not contain one item with cheese on it! To me nothing beats a “Flirtini” (one of their speciality cocktails that is a combination of liquor and champagne) and sharing several of their speciality sushi rolls (the Crush Roll-Deep fried roll, with spicy tuna, spicy salmon & avocado, glazed with Eel sauce, spicy mayo, scallion and caviar is my favorite) with friends after a long day of work.

I love to travel and experience all a city has to offer. Whether I am in Tampa visiting friends, Dallas going to the Cowboys home opener (yes I am a Cowboys fan, don’t hold it against me), or San Diego at the Zoo, I always make the best of what is offered to me.

This is my second year guest blogging during Hudson Valley Resturant Week, and I am looking forward to sharing my experience with you again this year.
