Elissa Fisher inherited her love for eating and cooking from her mother. As a child, while her neighbors were chowing down on egg rolls and wonton soup at the local Chinese restaurant, her family was taking jaunts down to Chinatown with Chinese friends and sampling such delicacies as sea cucumber and jellyfish.
A trip to Paris enticed her to taste her first escargot at the age of nine. A foodie was born!
Elissa has been working as a teacher in Westchester County for more than twenty-five years. She has rewarded her students over the years by teaching them to make mandoo (Korean dumplings) and Thanksgiving dinner. She has been known to bring in green bagels for St. Patrick’s Day.
Elissa enjoys discovering new places to dine, reading cookbooks, and experimenting with new recipes. She has recently written her first guest blog for a local food website, and looks forward to blogging for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week this year.
