Hudson Valley Restaurant Week 2012: Meet Brett Sloane and George Distelhurst

We are so excited to be blogging again this year for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week on Small Bites! Last year we were able to visit 8 amazing restaurants throughout Restaurant Week and tried so many new places and foods.  In fact, since last year, we have had the opportunity to eat in many new restaurants, including some of the local cuisine in tropical Jamaica this past summer (we even ate dinner in a cave – that’s where we are in our picture).  And when stranded in Florida on our way home (Hurricane Irene!) with no choice but to drive back to N.Y., we took the opportunity to eat in many states all along the East Coast.  It’s one of our favorite things to do — pick a town and spend the day there walking around sampling a little bit of the cuisine in the different restaurants the area has to offer. Hoboken is a great one to try! Anyway, we hope you enjoy our reviews as much as we enjoy reading them on Small Bites!!

  1. Just came back from eating at Cathryn’s tuscan grill in Cold Spring. I very much enjoyed the atmosphere, the service was very friendly and relaxed. The restaurant week menu was very attractive. My friends chose the veal and guinea hen entree and were very happy. I, on the other hand had the foie gras with risotto. The apple risotto tasted very good and was the entree , the foie gras was a teaser, a teaspoon size maybe, so if it had been the size of a tablespoon It would have been more acceptable. Anyway, the quality of the food is excellent but avoid the salad as an appetizer and the foie gras entree if you don’t want to eat 2 deserts.
