Last year was my first year as a guest blogger for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week (HVRW), and I have been looking forward to this year’s event ever since then. It’s not that I need an excuse to dine out. Believe me. When my favorite eating establishments put out their sidewalk tables for the first time each spring, I take that as a personal invitation to join them. I need very little encouragement to enjoy a meal out. But HVRW is such a great way to celebrate the creative chefs and servers who feed us and help make our communities so welcoming. Their coordinated efforts to make the next couple of weeks special just give us all some extra incentive.
I read somewhere that the first restaurant week was started in 1992 in the city. That means the concept has been around for 20 years already, and it’s easy to understand why. When you read the list of participating restaurants, it just feels so promising. I am guest blogger Jessica Cohn, I love a good meal, and I am looking forward to visiting some restaurants that are new to me. I will do my best to share the details with you, here at Small Bites.
