My name is Robin Locker Lacey and I live in the beautiful Mid-Hudson Valley, in Poughkeepsie. I have spent most of my childhood and adult life in Dutchess County and have happily seen the region blossom and grow over the past 10+ years into a wonderful destination for food lovers.
I have tried quite a few new restaurants during the past two years of Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, but this will be the first year I’ll be participating as a guest blogger and sharing my experiences.
Two little known foodie facts about me: I could eat my weight in a good pasta and I’ve never tasted a cheese I didn’t like.
In my work as a travel consultant for Italy and France, a good portion of what I am passionate about in my work is helping clients savor the best culinary experiences those regions have to offer.
But when I’m not drooling over the food and wine in Europe, you’ll find me seeking out the tastiest new hot spots in the valley, shopping at farmers markets, discovering new local gourmet products, watching cooking shows and experimenting with recipes in my kitchen – as my husband and I both enjoy cooking together.
Much of my blog, My Mélange, is centered on travel, but I can’t resist including the occassional recipe, favorite wine, new cookbook recommendation or restaurant review. I’m very happy to have an the opportunity to share my local dining experiences during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week with you.
