I Eat Plants: Raw and vegan produce in Rye (and Larchmont!)


On a recent Sunday morning, after a hot, hot, hot bike ride, I made my way to the Rye Farmers’ Market. It was early in the season so I didn’t walk out with much but what I did find was lovely.

From the farmers’ market I made my way to Andy’s Pure Food.

Before I could think about which cold, plant-based salads I wanted to take home to serve at a cookout

I drank down a delicious juice.

Iron Maiden : spinach, parsley, carrot, cilantro and grapefruit

I ultimately opted for a brussels sprouts and tomato salad and a broccoli and leek salad which I served up with corn, roasted on the grill.

I love that I can go to Rye on Sunday mornings and quickly grab fresh vegetables, raw salad and vibrant juices in a matter of minutes – and now I can do the same in Larchmont on Saturdays, as Andy’s has opened just across the street from the Larchmont Farmer’s Market!
