I Eat Plants: Harry’s Burritos in Larchmont

I love going to mainstream restaurants that offer vegetarian and vegan options clearly on the menu.  Haven Restuarant in Pleasantville is a favorite. But when I’m looking for something more casual I opt for Harry’s Burritos in Larchmont.

My husband and I like to go to Harry’s on Sundays for brunch- as in lunch with Bloody Mary’s.

We both enjoy a spicy beverage with chips, guacamole and salsa.  From there, he goes all omnivore and I comb the menu for the many, many vegan options.

One of my favorites is the very simple taco. I could go with beans as a vegan option but I love the “ground soy” (versus ground beef) taco.

The hard corn shell is filled with ground soy, beans and vegan cheese.

Another favorite is the super burrito. I tend to order it with mixed beans (black and pinto) and vegan sour cream and vegan cheese.

Harry’s offers big food at a reasonable price for both the plant- and meat-eater.
