A Recap of the Week and Local Links

Happy weekend! I’ve rounded up some local links from the Lower Hudson Valley to get you through this snowy weekend. We did some video training at The Journal News this week and learned helpful tricks and tips for shooting and editing on the fly. This week, we wrapped the LoHud Wine of the Week series, which featured Rochambeau Wines & Liquors manager Jeffrey Wooddy. That guy really knows his stuff! Make sure to read all of his recommendations, they are pretty diverse and decently priced. 

The Journal News also posted an article via USA Today about a recall of popular tuna brands. According to manufacturers, some cans of Bumble Bee Tuna and Chicken of the Sea are suspected of improper seals. No illnesses have been reported, the companies say. But “loose seals or seams could result in product contamination by spoilage organisms or pathogens and lead to illness if consumed,” according to a statement from Bumble Bee Foods posted by the Food and Drug Administration. Play it safe and clean out your cabinet.

We are winding down our Friday Fish Dish cooking challenge, which runs throughout Lent. This week, Eastchester Gourmet Fish helped us out with a great Rainbow Trout Almondine Recipe.
