The Tapp in Tarrytown

If you haven’t heard the buzz about The Tapp, try reading the article that was posted on a few days ago. Better yet, stop in the new Tarrytown gastropub and check it out yourself. A far cry from it’s predecessor, Brute 9, The Tapp’s renovated look has also revitalized the space—offering a new crowd an upgrade place to drink, hang and grab a bite to eat.

Offering much more than traditional bar food (if you haven’t heard it before—try the slider meatballs!), the eatery is a triple threat; Chef Alexa Wilkinson offers new specials daily, Piper Tyrsdotter chimes in on the menu with daily  desserts and general manager Jeremy McLellan is creating new cocktails by the season.

McLellan shared the recipe for the highlight of his spring cocktail menu, the “Bitter Truth.” Click here to see the Bitter Truth Cocktail recipe.

About Author creator Katie Schlientz started her love affair with food after she cooked her first dinner for her family. On the menu? Straight out of the box mac 'n cheese. While her cooking skills and palate have certainly matured since then, she still loves watching people experience good food. To join the Westchester #foodienation, visit

  1. Obviously the Pimp is going to be down on it. That’s natural. I think it’s got it’s ups and downs.

Are we going to have avatars?

Of course, initially we will all miss the old blog. It’s familiar. Like an old girlfriend. But eventually we will get over it and tire of even the new blog.

  2. YES! I have an avatar. I must have uploaded that absurd thing years ago. It’s a pretty sweet swashbuckling mustached I like to call “Orville RedenRocker” or “Huckleberry Sin.”

  3. That cocktail sounds pretty good. I like anything with Campari, which I find to be a good low alcohol, sippable summer drink. Also, love mixing in beer instead of seltzer to add some body. Definitely will have to try that one out.

  4. I wish I knew, @CCCP@ . I don’t know where that one comes from. It just pops up on the internet most times I post.

  5. Sioux-per-man on

    We should call the drink

Remember don’t drink and blog at the same time!!!

  6. Sioux-per-man on

Manny you fit right it with the Trucker Hat.

I could write you a new lone on your “New Rig” 🙂

  7. I could use a good Mack Pinnacle Day Cab, Sioux. Also, my sleeper is wearing out too. Thinking of switching to Volvo there.

  8. Got it, Sioux. The avatar is from my old blog which was on The avatar is from a user account there.

  9. Thanks, Liz! That’s really great to know. Great site. Having a bunch of fun poking around.

  10. Liz, they want more Walter’s reviews. I am planning on doing a weekly Walter’s review on RR during the off-season. 🙂 Sorry for sending all my knuckleheads over here.

  11. Hello There. I found your blog using msn. This is an extremely well written article.

I will be sure to bookmark it and come back to read more of your useful information. Thanks for the post.
