A recent visit to Tarry Lodge during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week proved to be very delicious. Without a lot of write-up and in the spirit of a picture is worth 1,000 words we present a tasting:
The pickled sunchokes paired with house-made ricotta and grilled bread was absolutely fantastic. Very refreshing.
Local mushrooms cooked down into a ragu and served over creamy polenta – – need we say more?
Fluffy and light ricotta gnocchi (dumplings, in Italian) were delightful. Certainly reminiscent of spring.
The unctuous bites of braised pork belly in a locally crafted beer (Captain Lawrence) was fantastic. Paired with braised turnips.
Tiramisu (in Italian, “pick me up”), did not disappoint. A pronounced coffee/almond flavor.
A semifreddo – – referred to as half-frozen and served with caramelized salted pears!
Finally, a cheesecake served with a complementary gelato finished the dining experience. All was well executed.
