Lefteris Gyro opens Yonkers location

If lunchtime lines out the door are any indication, the new Lefteris Gyro in the Yonkers Ridge Hill shopping center is worth a visit. The popular Greek restaurant, with locations in Mount Kisco and Tarrytown, opened the doors to the new spot a few months ago and heaping platters with a medley of Greek comfort food like fried calamari, pita pizza, zucchini, hummus, sausages and spinach pies are drawing crowds.

The new location shares a menu with the others, so fans can expect to find the same favorites on the massive list, like the popular souvlaki platter, freshly made pita, avgolemeno soup and of course, gyros with homemade tzatziki sauce. There are also plenty of authentic appetizers that would be great for sharing with a group: pikilia platter, grilled octopus and skordalia, a light garlic and potato dip. Appetizers range between $4 and $15, gyros are $8 and salads go for around $10.
