Future culinary leaders will find out how to get a real, respected degree from the CIA at an upcoming reception in Orangeburg, NY at the Holiday Inn, 329 Route 303, on Thursday, May 16 at 6 p.m. The evening will be hosted by CIA alumnus Kendell Brenner ’88, chef-instructor at Rockland BOCES.

Attendees will have their college application fee waived and qualify for significant tuition grants if they enroll during spring entry dates. The CIA offers associate degrees in culinary arts and baking and pastry arts; and bachelor’s degrees in culinary arts management, baking and pastry arts management, and culinary science; and the college provides many student scholarships.

Career changers and traditional college students are invited to come and learn how they can pursue their dream jobs in the food world. Food and hospitality is one of the largest private-sector industries in the United States, and it’s growing. In 2012, almost 900 recruiters actively sought out CIA students and graduates at the college’s career fairs, a 30 percent increase from the year before. And, according to the National Restaurant Association, foodservice employment will outpace the American economy as a whole for 14th straight year in 2013.
