We’ve said it before, one of the most frustrating things about watching the Food Network is that you can’t taste what they’re cooking. Fortunately, the opportunity to taste the cuisine of Chef Malcolm Mitchell, a finalist from Food Network Star season 8, presents itself May 10 at Nuttin’ To It Cafe in Yorktown. The celebrity chef will be preparing a menu true to his signature healthy soul food style, with a fresh asparagus and heirloom tomato salad, pan roasted Chilean sea bass, grilled New Zealand lamb chops and a rhubarb and gala apple crumble.
Mitchell’s “pop-up restaurant” concept, which he has been doing across the country, involves him taking control of another restaurant for a day with the assistance of the chef of the restaurant. He cooks his own food, his way and this is his first time Mitchell will be taking over a restaurant in New York. Nuttin’ To It Cafe chef and owner, Rob Del Balzo will be assisting Mitchell for the evening. Below is Mitchell’s bio video from Food Network Star.
