But both agree it’s the cold-pressed juices served at Cappelli’s Lilli Pilli Health Bar that helped Goncalves, the executive chef at 42 in White Plains, drop 45 pounds in the past year.
It helps that Goncalves had easy access to those juices. He and Cappelli are longtime friends, and collaborators since May 2012 in Lilli Pilli, a 50-seat restaurant on Main Street in White Plains, practically adjacent to the City Center. Open for breakfast through dinner, the menu includes salads, wraps, baked sweet potatoes, an organic turkey chili and frozen yogurt.
Juices, the mainstay of the business, are produced daily in a 3,000-square-foot space on the lower level of the restaurant. Cappelli named the place Lilli Pilli after a berry native to Australia, where she grew up.
